Welcome Cocktails
Monday 18.00
Join us in the Vidamar foyer on Monday at 18.00 for a cocktail or two (or three) and a warm welcome to our tournament and our beautiful island.
Traditional dinner and folk dancing
Wednesday 20.45
An evening of true Madeiran fare, with folk music and dance in traditional costume (you can join in too). Wednesday after the second session of the Open Pairs (coaches leave Vidamar 20.15).
Gala dinner and Prizegiving
Sunday 19:00
Join us for a relaxing drink after the hurly-burly of the Open Teams, then in the Vidamar dining room where you will enjoy a superb three-course dinner with good wines, followed by the prizegiving and a disco (dancing optional).

Option A: Levada Walk
(½-day, lunch included; coach leaves VidaMar 09:00)
Levada do Rei is an ideal levada walk for everyone, offering easy, accessible paths through the lush greenery of São Jorge in Santana. The 10 km trail takes about 3.5 hours and winds past streams, small waterfalls, and vibrant forest, providing a peaceful and immersive experience in Madeira’s unique Laurissilva ecosystem.
With lunch included, this gentle hike is perfect for beginners, families, and nature lovers who want to enjoy both the scenery and a relaxing meal along the way.
What to bring: sunscreen, trainers or suitable walking shoes, warm jacket.
Option B: Coach Tour
(full day, lunch included; coach leaves VidaMar 09.15)
Experience the best of Madeira on this full-day tour, starting at Monte to visit its historic church and gardens, then ascending to Pico do Areeiro, one of the island’s highest peaks, for breathtaking mountain views. Enjoy lunch (included) at a local restaurant in Ponta do Pargo and visit the nearby lighthouse, then explore the natural pools of Porto Moniz and the dramatic cliffs of Ribeira da Janela, with short walks at each stop to fully enjoy Madeira’s stunning landscapes, before returning to the hotel, where the bus arrives around 16:00.

Option C: Boat Trip
(limited availability; coach leaves VidaMar 09:30)
As you explore in search of the perfect location, the dolphins appear, curious, lively, and full of playful chatter. This three-hour wildlife excursion promises memories that will last a lifetime. With a bit of luck, you may also encounter whales, turtles, and seabirds. On bright, sunny days, there’s even the chance to enjoy a refreshing swim.
When the winds cooperate, we’ll switch off the engines and let the gentle breeze guide us. This remarkable journey is an experience everyone should enjoy at least once.
